Travel | Boston

A few months ago, my husband and I had the privilege of traveling to Boston for the first time. We stayed in the Back Bay area, and were pleasantly surprised by how relatively small the city is. It made for a relaxing trip, since my husband and I tend to be a little more adventurous and ambitious with our travel itineraries.

One of the most memorable parts of the trip was taking things slow, to the point that we spent most nights watching movies in our spacious hotel room, along with Sunday morning webcasting our home church's corporate service.  We were also thankful seeing old friends, who spent their first year of marriage in this charming city, and took us to one of the most delicious Italian restaurants in the area! If you ever find yourself traveling in that area, here are some places and restaurants we recommend exploring and eating!

Tatte Bakery
shakshuka, iced latte

Mamaleh's Delicatessen
Dunia’s potato latkes, nova lox

Giacomo's Ristorante
fried calamari, shrimp and scallop pasta with fracomo sauce

Modern Pastry Shop
pistachio cannoli

Fan Pier Park

Boston Public Garden

Portraits | The Chang Family

As seen on The Fount Collective

Christine and I have known each other since college, and I greatly appreciate the wonderful friendship we’ve had since then. Christine has a quiet yet sincere countenance, and recently became a mother of a sweet little daughter this year.  As I witnessed her as she and her husband earnestly waiting to be parents, I am reminded of Psalm 59 as Christine found refuge in God during the trials of waiting. It was an honor to photograph this family as they celebrated their gift of life! One of my favorite moments from this session was seeing both Christine and her husband tenderly loving their child, overflowing with gratitude, and filled with kisses and sweet giggles.

Jeremy Chou Photography Workshop

As featured on 100 Layer Cake

Last year, one of my goals was to attend a workshop with hopes to learn more about refining my brand and art of photography. I am so grateful that Jeremy Chou hosted a one-day workshop in San Francisco, alongside with the skillful creative direction from Natalie Choi Events - two vendors who I've always wanted to meet or work with! I greatly admire Jeremy Chou not only for his sense of artistic style, but also his approachable nature, and his intent on teaching and sharing his experience with others.

Through his workshop, I especially took away the importance of consistency, and the subtle nuances of posing my subject. Not only did I learn much, but had the opportunity of photographing a gorgeous set up by an amazing team! It was a memorable experience that I will never forget!
